Spring Break in St. George

For spring break we took another trip to St. George (our new favorite vacation destination). Luckily for us, Barb was willing to have us back again. While we were there we got to go on a couple of great hikes, Sam and Grant wend skiing with Lance, Makayla and Hunter got to go to a bounce place, we go to eat some yummy food, and we got to see Barb. (You can check out the pictures from the trip in the slide show at the left.)

Hunter's Pre-School Program

At the end of each session of pre-school Hunter has a program and we get to go and hear him sing. Fortunately for us, when Hunter knows the song his voice can be heard above all the rest. Hunter has a fun time going to Apples to Zebras and playing with his friends. We get to carpool with his friend, Kylie, and there is never a dull moment with her around.

Grant's Rube Goldberg Device

Grant spent the day building one after another of these. They were very interesting, but the best part for me was watching Grant's excitement as he completed each one and showed us how they worked.

Visiting the Phoenix Zoo

Hunter and I went on a trip to the zoo with some friends. It was a lot of fun, I think the kids liked running around more than looking at the animals. When we were there the Gorillas were very active, it was fun to watch the baby running around. We of course went to see the spider monkeys (Hunter's favorite). We also enjoyed the popcorn and cotton candy. We learned that the different colors of cotton candy have different flavors.

Makayla Looses Her First Tooth

Makayla finally lost her first tooth! After days of extreme pain, Dad helped her by yanking it out for her. She was very excited to loose her first tooth and have the Tooth Fairy visit and bring $1.00. She also got to tell her teacher at school and put her name on the tooth board.

Aunt Wendy, Aunt Kirsten, Henry and Oliver come to visit

Aunt Wendy, Aunt Kirsten, Henry and Oliver drove down from Seattle to come and visit us is warm, sunny Arizona. It had been a couple years since we had seen the Proffits so it was nice to see them. They also got to see Aunt Margie's new baby, Brookelynne, who had been in the hospital the week before with RSV. It made for a crazy week the previous week, but we were all glad Brookelynne was alright. The kids had a good time playing with their cousins.

Go Cardinals!

The kids really got into the Super Bowl this year. We were all amazed that the Cardinals had made it that far.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

We had Grandpa over for his birthday this year and had a party. We had a nice dinner and carrot cake (of course). The kids had fun getting things ready and we or course love the party hat.

Happy New Year from St. George

For New Years we went to St. George and met Sarah's sister, Lora, and her family. It is something we have been talking about doing for years and finally did. We got to go swimming, hiking, shopping, to the movies, and hang out together. The kids had a lot of fun seeing their cousins, the kids have all grown so much.

Merry Christmas

We had a nice Christmas at home this year.  We had Grandma and Grandpa Anderson over for Christmas dinner, but other than that we were home with just our little family.  The highlight of the year for me this year was the Christmas Eve Program Samantha put together for us.  We had a little play and lots of singing.  Samantha even typed up a program for us to follow.  After all of the kids had a chance to participate they got to open up one present.  This was a tradition that Lance had growing up and we have carried on the tradition.

Having a 'Wicked' time in L.A.

This year for Samantha's 12th birthday Lance and I took her to L.A. to see Wicked at the Pantages Theater.  We also went on the behind the scenes tour before the show, which was a total surprise to Sami.  It was nice being able to have time with just Samantha, she has grown so much lately and is becoming a young woman.  We have now entered the world of the pre-teen:  makeup, hair, clothes, and friends are very important.

Sam is still enthusiastic about everything and always trying to make everyone happy.  She is an incredible big sister and Makayla and Hunter love to play with her.  She is definitely their favorite babysitter.  I love having her as a daughter and just being with her.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year.  We took a trip up to St. George to see Barb.  She moved to St. George over a year ago and this was the first trip we were able to make.  The kids got to miss a few day so school and we even got to bring our cousin Natalie.

While in St. George we went on an awesome hike in Snow Canyon, the girls and Grant went to see the movie 'Twilight' while Lance took the little kids to see 'Bolt', and of course we had a great Thanksgiving dinner.

Hunter turns 4

It is hard to believe that my baby is 4 years old now!  We had a family party at home this year.  Hunter has grown so much and can do so many things.  The big milestone for Hunter is now he can't run around the house in his underwear.  He hates to wear clothes.  One day after being out running errands, we came in the house and he just sighed and said: "finally, I can take my clothes off."

Happy Birthday Boys!

When Grandpa Grant and Grammie Bonnie came for a quick visit, we had a birthday celebration for the three boys born in November.  Grant turned 10, Hunter 4, and Grandpa a bit older that that.

The Diamondbacks Season Ends

This fall Grant played little league with his Dad as the head coach.  They both had a great time coaching and playing on the Diamondback team.   Grant was one of the teams best hustlers, always gave his best effort, and was one of the fastest boys on the team!

Happy Birthday Grant!

On November 5th Grant celebrated his 10th birthday.  He had a great birthday party having some friend over for cake and ice cream and then heading off to Fiddlesticks to play mini-golf, go-carts, and video games.  Just what a 10 year old boy loves.  The thing that stands out most about Grants birthday this year is when I set the cake down in from of him he immediately blew out all the candles.  He forgot that he was supposed to wait until after we sang Happy Birthday.  So we relit the candles and sang Happy Birthday 3 times before we let him blow out the candles a second time.
