We stopped along the way at the Winter Quarters visitor center. There is a temple there now as well. It was very beautiful and humbling to think of all that was sacrificed by the pioneer men and women who made the journey west. It was a bit of a challenge getting to where we needed to be after leaving but it was worth it. Samantha would have loved seeing this with us, next time we will have to stop so she can experience it also.

Winter Quarters, Nebraska
We stopped along the way at the Winter Quarters visitor center. There is a temple there now as well. It was very beautiful and humbling to think of all that was sacrificed by the pioneer men and women who made the journey west. It was a bit of a challenge getting to where we needed to be after leaving but it was worth it. Samantha would have loved seeing this with us, next time we will have to stop so she can experience it also.
Chicago Here We Come!
Samantha flew out ahead of us and we followed on our trip to Chicago. We stopped and camped in Colorado and had a wonderful time. The campground we found was beautiful and there were even a few waterfalls a short stroll away. It was warm during the day but cooled off nicely at night. There is a reservoir nearby with a beach nearby. Our hope is to one day have an Anderson Family Reunion here.
The Grand Canyon
We took a trip up to the Grand Canyon and met Mom and Dad to pick up the camper. We even got to bring Natalie with us. It was a bit cooler than in the Phoenix valley. We took a hike down into the canyon. A storm came as we were hiking down and it got quite cold and it rained a bit also. The kids were very happy when the hike was over, but proud of being able to do it. Maybe in a few years we will try it again when there isn't a storm.
